Dal Rice
Ingredients :
Rice - 1 cup
Toor dal - 1/2 cup
Shallots - 1/2 cup
Garlic - 10 cloves
Pepper - 1 teaspoon
Cumin seeds - 1 1/2 teaspoon
Dried red chilli - 7
Oil - 1 1/2 tablespoon
Ghee - 2 tablespoons
Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
Salt - as per taste
Method of cooking :
1) Heat the pressure cooker with oil and sauté the garlic cloves.
2) Then add shallots to it and fry it for a minute,
3) Mix dried red chilli, cumin seeds, pepper and curry leaves to the above.
4) As soon as the mixture turns golden brown, add 4 cups of water and salt.
5) As soon as the water boils, add the washed rice and toor dal, stir it well, and close the cooker.
6) Keep the flame in medium, put on the weight of the cooker and let the mixture get cooked for about 10 to 12 minutes.
7) After the pressure releases completely, open the lid, add ghee, mix it well and serve the rice.
Now the delicious dal rice is ready.
