Tomato gravy - Recipe

Ingredients:

Onion                     2

Tomato                  5

Oil                          1 table spoon 

Salt                        As per your taste 

Ingredients required to grind :

Coconut                 1/2 cup 

Poppy seeds          1 tea spoon 

Dried red chilli    3

Green chilli          2

Coriander seeds   1 tea spoon

Garam masala      1/2 tea spoon 


Method of cooking :

1) Heat the pan and pour oil. After the oil gets heated, drop a spoon of cumin seeds and let it splutter.

2) Add finely chopped onion and saute it till it turns into golden brown.

3) Add finely chopped tomatoes and stir continuously for a while.

4) Then add the ground masala, salt and required amount of water and cook in medium heat.

5) Turn off the stove or hob as soon as the gravy thickens.

Tastes good with chapati, idly and dosa.

NB : Red tomatoes should be used. If it is somewhat greenish and raw, avoid that tomato.
