Corn Pulao (II)


Ingredients:

Basmati rice                     -        1 cup

Sweet corn                       -         3

Onion                                -         2

Cashew nuts                    -         12

Bay leaf                            -          1

Cinnamon stick              -          1 inch

Clove                                 -          3

Ghee                                  -          2 table spoon

Salt                                     -          as per taste

To grind the masala :

Onion                                -           1

Garlic                                -           4 cloves

Ginger                               -           1/2 inch

Turmeric powder           -           1/4 tea spoon

Chilli powder                   -           1 tea spoon

Coriander powder          -           1 tea spoon

Garam masala powder  -           1/4 tea spoon

Method of making :

1) Soak the rice for 20 minutes and drain the water. 

2) Heat the pan and add 1/2 tea spoon of ghee and saute the rice until it becomes dry.

3) Cut the onion as lengthy pieces.

4) Heat a pressure cooker with ghee and add bay leaf, cinnamon stick and clove to it. Then add onion and fry it until it becomes golden brown.

5) Add the masala and stir it. Then fry it until the ghee separates from the masala.

6) Add the sweet corn and rice to the masala.

7) Pour 2 cups of boiled water, salt and then close the cooker.

8) After the release of first whistle, turn off the cooker 

9) Open the cooker after the pressure gets fully released. 

10) As a final touch, add fried cashews and decorate.

Now the delicious corn pulao is ready.
