Potato green curry - Recipe

Ingredients required :

Potato                     1/4 kg 

Onion                      3 numbers (medium sized)

Chick pea               1 cup (soaked for 6 hours)

Salt                          As per your taste 

Ghee (or) oil          2 table spoon 

Tomato                   2


Ingredients required for grinding  the paste :

Green chillies        4

Garlic                      4 cloves 

Curry leaves          2 sprigs

Coriander leaves   1 cup 


How to make Potato Green curry ?

1) Boil potatoes, peel of the skin and smash it.

2) Boil chick peas until it softens. If you use pressure cooker, 4 whistles are enough.

3) Heat a pan and pour oil (or) ghee. As the oil gets heated, drop a spoon of mustard and a spoon of gram dhall.

4) After the mustard splutters, add chopped onions to it and saute it till the onion turns golden brown. 

5) Add the ground masala and saute it for 2 minutes in medium heat.

6) Then add finely chopped tomatoes and mix it for a while.

7) Finally add smashed potatoes, boiled chick peas, salt and required amount of water and mix it well.

8) Close the pan with the lid and boil it in medium heat until the gravy thickens.

9) At last, turn off the stove or hob and transfer the gravy to a bowl.

10) Decorate the curry with onion and coriander leaves.

Tasty dish to eat with rice and roti.
