Dum cauliflower - Recipe


Ingredients :

Cauliflower                1 (big)

Oil                                2 table spoon 

Masala - 1 (grind coarsely) :

Onion                          2 (big)  or 3 (medium)

Garlic                          5 cloves 

Masala - 2 (grind into fine paste) : 

Poppy seeds.              1 tea spoon 

Cashew nuts              8

Dried red chilli         4 numbers 

Cumin seeds              1 tea spoon 

Coriander seeds        1 tea spoon

Grated coconut          3 tea spoons 

Turmeric powder      1/2 tea spoon

Salt                                As per your taste 

Method of cooking :

1) Cut cauliflower into florets.

2) put it in the boiling water for 2 minutes. Then drain it.

3) Masala - 1 and masala - 2 should be ground separately and then both the coarse paste and fine paste should be mixed.

4) Cauliflower has to be marinated with the mixture of pastes.

5) Heat a pan and pour oil. After the oil gets heated, place the marinated florets in the pan and pour 1/4 cup of water and close the pan with the lid. Cook in medium heat.

6) Stir the contents of the pan so that the masala won't stick to the pan.

7) Turn off the stove or hob after the oil gets separated and starts floating above.

8) Your dum cauliflower is ready.

A good side dish for chapati, roti, fulka (roti or chapati prepared without oil).
